Below we will help with item prep and tag attachment. For specific instructions and guidlines for producing tags, please see the tagging page.
Gather your items together and check them for rips, stains, missing buttons, or excessive wear. Ironing is not required, but a piece in good, ready to wear condition will sell more quickly than a wrinkled one. For all clothing items that pass inspection, hang them on a hanger with the hook facing left. You may use any type of hanger that you are ok not receiving back. Hangers will go home with the purchased items.
Bottoms may be hung on hangers with clips, or safety pinned to a hanger. For a set with top and bottom pieces, hang the top as normal, and pin the bottom piece to the back of the hanger so they are connected together on one hanger. (Pictured)
Shoes, handbags, hats, and other accessories should not be put on hangers. They will only need a tag. If you have a set of accessories that you’re selling together, you can combine them in a ziploc bag, or pin them together.
After your tags are prepared, you’re ready to attach your tags!
For hanging items, you may stick or safety pin your tag to the upper right hand side of the garment. This is our preferred method for most items as the tag will be most visible. If you would prefer to attach your tag to the interior neck tag with a tagging gun, you may come early to your drop off appointment and use one of our tagging guns at drop off.
For shoes, cardstock is the best tag option. Punch a hole in the upper portion of the tag. Then, use a zip-tie or a ribbon to tie your shoes together through the shoelace holes, through buckles, or around straps, and attach the tag to the zip-tie or ribbon. Make sure the shoes can not be separated from eachother.
For handbags, punch a hole in the upper portion of cardstock tags, and tie the tag around the strap of the bag.
For miscellaneous accessories and non-hanging items, safety pin or stick the tag to each item in a way that is secure and visible. If it is a set or group of items being sold together, you may either pin the group together, or place them in a Ziploc bag and tape or stick the tag to the outside of the bag.
